If you have different Outlook accounts with different contacts and calendars, you may want to import or export your data at some point. In this video I will demonstrate one possible way of exporting your contact list from one account or PC to another.

Remote desktop at UiT for Mac

If you are a former employee at Tromso University College which is now merged with Tromso University, you have noticed that the procedure of remote desktop has changed. In this video I will show one set up for Mac computers using remote desktop solution of UiT. This is a combination of VPN and third party software for remote access. Embed a document in your web site

I hate it when each time I go to a site, there is a link to a document they say I have to read. Jacob Nielsen is right. This is very bad web design. One easy fix is to embed the document in your page. How, when every format is different? Well, scrid.com offers a simple solution. Make it your Youtube.com site, but for sharing documents, not movies. Embeding was never easier. Even today wordpress.com doesn’t offer embeding documents, only media.

Mind mapping 2.0

Mind mapping is one major tool in education. With e-learning we have had a challenge so far; how to share maps on the net. The solution has often been to share pdf, jpg or similar versions. In recent years, there have been some other alternatives. One almost free and appealing solution comes from mindmeister.com. Watch this 5 minutes video for an introduction.

Want to publish a paper written in MS Word?

Sometimes you need to print a document for publishing. Maybe a book, or a pamphlet. In any case it’s best to define the margins first, and not use same margin for odd and even pages. Then you have a much easier task during publishing prosess.

This is done quite easily in MS Word for Windows and Mac. Here is how for Windows. For Mac? similar, but not quite the same. That’s Microsoft for you.
